What it means for a translation to be sworn in Alicante

A sworn translator accredited by the MAEC is a professional authorised by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to officially certify the fidelity and accuracy of a translation. Their signature, stamp and certification at the foot of the document grant it full legal validity before any Spanish administration.

At Textualia the translations are signed directly by the accredited translator — never routed through intermediary agencies or external freelancers. That means direct contact, personal quality control and fast answers to any question about your procedure.

The qualification of Sworn Translator-Interpreter is granted by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs after the candidate passes the official examination and is listed in the public registry. The accreditation is nationwide: a sworn translator based in Alicante can certify translations to be filed with any administration in Spain (the Sub-delegation of the Government in Alicante, property registries, universities, courts, notaries…) and with any foreign body that accepts the Hague apostille.

Frequently asked questions

About sworn translators in Alicante

Can any translator produce a sworn translation?

No. Only people accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and listed in the MAEC public registry can officially certify a translation as sworn. A translation done by a non-accredited translator — however good — has no legal validity and is not accepted by administrations.

Is an online sworn translation legally valid?

Yes. A sworn translation signed electronically by a translator accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC) has the same legal effect as a paper translation (Ministry Resolution of 26 July 2020). It is accepted by public administrations, courts, universities, notaries and registries throughout Spain.

How can I verify that you are official sworn translators?

The official list of sworn translators-interpreters is published by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation (searchable by language and autonomous community). We share our accreditation number so you can verify it directly at the source.

How do I order a sworn translation?

Upload the document to the website calculator, choose the language pair (English→Spanish or French→Spanish) and pick a turnaround. You'll see the closed price with VAT included before paying. After payment we deliver the sworn translation as an electronically signed PDF. If you also need a physical copy, we ship it by certified courier.

How much does a sworn translation cost?

Flat per-page rate, VAT included. The price depends on the turnaround you select (standard, urgent or express). No specialty surcharges, no surprise minimums: you see the exact price in the calculator before confirming payment.

Which language pairs do you cover?

We handle sworn translation from English into Spanish and French into Spanish. If you need another pair (German, Italian, Portuguese, etc.) write to us and we'll refer you to a trusted colleague with the same MAEC accreditation.

What kinds of documents do you translate?

Personal documents (ID cards, residence cards, birth, marriage and death certificates), academic records (degrees, transcripts, diplomas), criminal-record certificates and court rulings, corporate documents (deeds, powers of attorney, contracts), medical and notarial documents. If your document doesn't fit any of these groups, write to us and we'll confirm within 24 h.
